Las Vegas, Nevada · A community podcast
“After coaching high school boys basketball at Akron Buchtel H.S., we had great athletes and success — 5 straight city titles, state runners-up, and many of my students attending college. My feelings: I wish I could have done more to prepare them for what was to come in life. This platform gets me another chance for others.”

Stay ready so you don’t have to get ready.
The mindset behind every episode.
Educate
Practical, plain-spoken conversations about discipline, preparation, money and the habits that carry young people and grown folks alike.
Elevate
New businesses and first-year hustles get the microphone. If you’re building something in this valley, there’s a seat at the table for you.
Encourage
No tearing anybody down. Every episode ends the same way it starts — with somebody feeling more ready than they were an hour ago.

Coach Harvey Sims
Host · Stay Ready Academy of Sports LLC
The story
Stay Ready Academy of Sports started the way most good things in this city start — with somebody deciding to show up for people who needed it. Coaching taught Harvey Sims that talent is everywhere, but preparation is what actually changes an outcome. Kids who learn to stay ready stop waiting for permission. So do adults.
The podcast is that same sideline conversation, opened up to the whole valley. Las Vegas gets talked about like it’s only a strip of hotels. It isn’t. It’s neighborhoods. It’s parents working overnights. It’s the barber who just signed a lease, the trainer running sessions in a park at 6am, the teacher who never stopped believing in the kid in the back row.
Those are the stories that don’t make the highlight reel — so this show makes them the highlight reel. Every episode is a Las Vegas person or a Las Vegas business getting the credit, the encouragement and the platform they earned.
Hard Work Pays
Education that actually applies
Preparation, mindset, discipline and follow-through — explained the way a coach explains it, not the way a textbook does.
Community stories from the valley
Neighbors, families, coaches, mentors and everyday folks whose work holds Las Vegas together.
A push for the up-and-coming
New businesses and first ventures get airtime, questions and honest encouragement — never a sales pitch.
The episodes
New episodes land here as they’re recorded — artwork, guest names and listen links included. Check back, or reach out and suggest a topic.

Business spotlight
You don’t need a following, a marketing budget or five years of history to sit down with Coach Sims. If you’re up and coming in Las Vegas — a new LLC, a side hustle turning serious, a family operation, a nonprofit finding its feet — the microphone is open.
Get involved
However you show up, the goal is the same: more Las Vegas voices heard, more people leaving encouraged.

Questions
Anything not covered here, just call and ask. Straight answers, no runaround.

Three things, every time: education, community stories and individual success right here in Las Vegas. Coach Harvey Sims sits down with people from around the valley to talk about how they prepared, what they’ve built and what they’ve learned along the way.
Not at all. The show exists specifically to make room for up-and-coming people and brand-new businesses. If you’re doing something in this city that matters to you, that’s enough.
Local ones. Trades, training, food, retail, services, creative work, nonprofits — the size and the industry matter far less than the person behind it and their willingness to talk honestly.
Episodes are listed on this site as they’re released, with links to wherever each one is hosted. Check back, or reach out and we’ll point you to the latest one.
Please do. Use the form on this page, or call and tell us who they are, what they do and why the valley should hear about them.
